Duncan allegedly refused to leave the home, and the argument escalated. Officers responded to a 911 call and found Booth dead in her home in the 300 block of Lewisville Trails Road. She had been shot.

According to the report, Duncan originally told detectives Booth committed suicide; however, they found his story and evidence at the scene did not match.

An autopsy revealed Booth suffered two gunshot wounds to the head. Duncan admitted to shooting Booth when he was interviewed.

Duncan was sentenced to 240 to 300 months, or 20 to 25 years, in the Department of Adult Corrections.
