1 dead after fatal crash on Hustonville Road in Danville, police report

The Danville Police Department released additional information on the deadly collision on Hustonville Road that left one person dead on Wednesday.

The department detailed that at around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, police were called to a single vehicle collision on South Third Street near Triangle Mart. When officers arrived, the driver, identified by police as 28-year-old Antonio Lancaster, was reportedly found unresponsive.

Officers attempted aid on the scene before he was taken to an area hospital and later pronounced dead, the department reported.

A preliminary investigation found that Lancaster reportedly "lost control of the vehicle" and hit a pole head on while driving northbound. The department noted that the driver was the only occupant in the vehicle.

The incident remains under investigation by Danville police.

The Danville Police Department reports that Hustonville Road is back open as of 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday due to a damaged utility pole following a deadly crash.

The Danville Police Department reports that part of Hustonville Road is shut down Wednesday morning due to a utility pole that was damaged following a deadly crash.

According to police, northbound on Hustonville Road from 2nd Street past Triangle Mart on South 3rd Street is shut down while KU is on the scene to restore power and replace the pole.

Police ask drivers to seek an alternate route.

No information has been released on the crash.
