Bluegrass Crime Stoppers and Lexington Police are asking anyone with any information about an early-morning shooting Friday that killed a 31-year-old man and injured five others to get in touch with police or crime stoppers.

“Any information could be crucial for the detectives in figuring out what occurred,” Lexington Police Det. Kristyn Klingshirn said at Wednesday press conference. Klingshirn is the department’s liaison with Bluegrass Crime Stoppers.

Klingshirn said the police department has no new information to release Wednesday about the shooting at a Lexington restaurant.

At 12:18 a.m., Friday police received a report of a shooting with multiple victims at the El Cid Mexican restaurant on National Avenue. Lexington police said six people were shot. Antoine Clay, 31, later died at the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.

The other five victims injuries were reported by police as non-life-threatening.

Klingshirn said there were many people in the area that night. Some could have left when the shooting started but may have seen something or have video of the incident.

“There may have been something that captured your attention for a second,” Klingshirn said. “There’s a reason for that.”

Klingshirn said that without the community’s help, the police can’t do their jobs.

“If you saw anything, come forward,” she said.

People with information about the shooting are encouraged to call Lexington police at (859) 258-3600. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Bluegrass Crime Stoppers by calling 859-253-2020 or online at www.bluegrasscrimestoppers.com , or through the P3 Tips app available at www.p3tips.com.

Klinghsirn said people can upload videos anonymously on the website.

El Cid was evicted from the National Avenue location on Wednesday . The property owner said El Cid was operating as a nightclub without the landlord’s knowledge.
