Mass. man stole food from driver at Burger King drive-thru window, police say
A 33-year-old Massachusetts man stole food from a driver at a Burger King drive-thru window in Reading and ran away, according to the Reading Police Department. At around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, police said they responded to reports of a man causing a disturbance and stealing food at a Reading Burger King. The man, according to police, had stolen a food order from one of the drivers at the drive-thru window.

Universal free school meals program sees successful first year
BOSTON, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — In the first year of state-funded universal free school meals, 12.2 million more lunches and 9 million more breakfasts were served over the previous year. Great Barrington — Construct Inc., the leading nonprofit provider of affordable housing and support services in the Southern Berkshires, has been awarded a $3.1 million grant from the Healey-Driscoll administration’s 2024 Affordable Housing Development program. The state funds will help construct and subsidize 11 units at Cassilis Farm, a Gilded Age estate in New Marlborough, making them affordable to families and workers at or below 60 percent of the area median income (AMI).
