Independence Shooting Leaves Two Injured
Two are injured in a shooting in Independence. Yesterday evening, Independence Police officers were dispatched to a shots fired call in the 400 block of West Locust Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered evidence indicating that a shooting had happened at the location. Officers were informed that two people had arrived at different nearby hospitals with gunshot wounds. Both victims were involved in the shooting incident at the 400 block of West Locust.
Mo. DNR awards $50K to Delta for wastewater system improvements
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KFVS) - The City of Delta was awarded a grant from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to evaluate the city’s wastewater system. The grant, which totals $50,000, is part of the DNR’s Clean Water Engineering Report Grant program, according to a release. This program offers funding to small communities for wastewater engineering costs incurred in preparation of a facility plan report.
Boil advisory issued in Platte County community after water main break
WALDRON, Mo. (KCTV) - A broken water main is causing some extra work for people living in one area of Platte County. Anyone living in Waldron, Mo., who gets water from Consolidated Public Water Supply District One is advised to boil water used for cooking or drinking for three minutes. The water district also suggests using bottled water to brush teeth.
Caldwell County man faces charges of kidnapping and domestic assault
A Polo man is facing two felony charges in Caldwell County after allegedly causing physical harm to a woman and preventing her from leaving a residence on July 13th. Matthew Strong, 20, has been charged with second-degree kidnapping and second-degree domestic assault. Bond was set at $50,000 with supervision by Supervision Services, and he is to have no contact with the alleged victim. A bond hearing is scheduled for July 18th.
