Experience the Perseids Meteor Shower in Vicksburg
VICKSBURG, Miss – The Perseid Meteor Shower has begun and will peak in the Vicksburg area the night of August 11 and early morning on the 12th. The annual display happens when Earth passes through the debris stream of comet Swift-Tuttle. This year that is happening in mid to late July and through most of August. The peak night for viewing will be the night of August 11 and early morning of the 12th. However a waxing moon may partially obstruct some meteors.

Mullen Automotive will allow customers to retrofit new Solid-State Polymer Battery Pack, increasing EV range
Southern California-based Commercial EV manufacturer Mullen Automotive has two vehicle plants located in Tunica, Mississippi and Mishawaka, Indiana. It began EV production in Tunica in August 2023. Now the company is developing a new solid-state polymer battery pack that it says can almost double the range of its EVs, and it will allow existing customers to upgrade to the new pack when it’s ready.
