    A teen collaborative art project will be held all day June 14-15 and 17-20, at the Waldorf West branch. Help make Teen Central an art space.

    Free showers will be available 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, June 14, at the Waldorf West branch. No registration required.

    Get Inked will be held 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Shop53 Tattoo & Art Studio, 6 St. Mary’s Ave., Suite 102 in La Plata. Celebrate a love of libraries by getting a book-themed tattoo and supporting your local library.

    Let’s Science That! will be held 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, June 14, at the Waldorf West branch. Join the Maryland Science Center and learn about science. A Summer Learning Challenge Program.

    A Korean traditional paper folding workshop will be held 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at the P.D. Brown Memorial branch. Registration required. A Summer Learning Challenge Program.

    Books! The Magic is Real with Joe Romano will be held 2 to 3 p.m. Monday, June 17, at the P.D. Brown Memorial branch.

    Juneteenth Celebration activity kits will be available all day from all branches between June 17-22.

    Introduction to 3D Printing will be held 2 to 3 p.m. Monday, June 17, at the Waldorf West branch. Registration required.

    Dragon Festival: A Celebration of Asian Heritage will be held 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 17, at the Lexington Park branch. Celebrate the heritage of Asia’s many cultures with cultural crafts, activities and a dragon boat race. Registration required.

    Author Merideth Taylor will discuss her book “Making a Way Out of No Way: Lives of Labor, Love, and Resistance” about 150 years of life in slavery on tobacco plantations in Southern Maryland 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, at the Lexington Park branch. Taylor will share images and stories from the book and talk about what inspired her to take on the project. Registration required.

    A book swap and reading log workshop will be held 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at the Lexington Park branch. Bring up to three books and leave with a new one. Also, learn how to make a book log to take home. Light refreshments will be provided.

    Art night for kids will be held 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 24, at the Leonardtown branch. Study and try to recreate foam block prints from “Under the Wave of Kanagawa” by Katsushika Hokusai. Throughout the summer will be art programs for kids.

    Culture Queen: Summer Fun will be held 10 to 11 a.m. and 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at the Prince Frederick branch. Culture Queen is an award-winning teaching artist, children’s musician, author and arts manager who creates empowering entertainment for children. Her children’s album “I Like the Me I See!” was released in 2016 along with her 2019 children’s book of the same title.

    The Bookmobile will be at Mill Creek 10 to 11 a.m.; Chesapeake Ranch Estates Lake Lariat 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; and Oak Tree Landing 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 15. Library services include Wi-Fi access, public computer access, printing, library card services and materials for check out.

    Dungeons & Dragons for teens will be held 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at the Fairview branch. For all experience levels. Registration required.

    Fiber Fiends — Knitting and crocheting will be held 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at the Southern branch. Get together with other fiber crafters, to learn or develop your skills, work on projects in progress, or start something new. Held on the third Saturday of the month. Registration required.

    MakePlayLearn will be held 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at the Prince Frederick branch, and 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, at the Twin Beaches branch. Take building and creativity to a new level.

    An online book discussion on Freida McFadden’s “The Teacher — The Teacher” will be held 8 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 18. Registration required.
