The Bluegrass region — with its natural beauty, unique entertainment offerings, and diverse economy — is a special place. But to make it truly idyllic and sustainable, it’s important for Lexingtonians to be civically engaged in conversations about how we face challenges and make investments in future improvements.

The Commerce Lexington Public Policy Series features local leaders, policymakers, business owners, and community members who discuss topics like:
    • Economic Development
    • Infrastructure
    • Education
    • Healthcare
    • And other matters that can impact our community and region
Recent speakers have included Governor Andy Beshear, Attorney General Russell Coleman, U.S. Congressman Andy Barr, and Lexington-Fayette County Urban Government council members.

WealthSouth , a local wealth management and commercial banking firm that has served the Bluegrass since 1909, is the series’ presenting sponsor.

“Our sponsorship of this event is an investment in the future of our community,” says Jeff Zinger, Senior Vice President and Lending Manager for WealthSouth. “We believe it’s important to support informed dialogue on issues that are critical to the areas our firm serves. Engaging in civic activities such as this helps increase awareness and empowers individuals to more actively contribute in community progress.”

The Public Policy Series Luncheon is held quarterly. The next luncheon will feature Kentucky Senate President Robert Stivers + Kentucky House Speaker David Osborne with a recap of the 2024 Legislative Session. It will be held Thursday, May 23 at the Hyatt Regency Lexington.
