Pull out those cameras + submit your photos for the Community PhotoVoice Project

Through a partnership with the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department, LexArts is organizing a community-wide PhotoVoice project . The theme will focus on how aspects of Lexington influence our mental health.

Community members are invited to submit photos that showcase the strengths and concerns of our city as it pertains to mental well-being — positive or negative. Before sharing your shot, LexArts wants you to consider these questions:

• What aspects of our city have created challenges or concerns for you regarding mental health?
• What features light you up + make your quality of life better?
• What would you like to see change to improve your life — as a person who lives or works in this community?

What is PhotoVoice?

PhotoVoice is an international movement that partners with various organizations to use photography as a means to “create positive social change.”

Submitted photos for the project will be featured at an exhibition at ArtsPlace in November.
