Spiritual Wisdom Allows Me To Have Faith In Uncertain Times
There is uncertainty in nearly every direction I look these days. The world is in chaos. We are teetering on the verge of WWIII, facing a financial crisis and inflation, grid outages, a health crisis, a rise in depression and suicide, and a relationship crisis. The future seems dark and heavy, yet I see hope. I hope for citizens to unite for peace globally (This is Gabriella Korosi's vision, which she shared with me, and I think it is so beautiful, and we should strive for it), hope for government reform, hope for awareness, and hope for better days.
"Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness." ~Desmond Tutu
We can choose to live a fear-based life or a love-based life. A love-based life is one based on spiritual wisdom and knowledge. You can be both spiritual and religious, or you can be spiritual without being religious. I do not judge.
Spiritual wisdom means connecting with something bigger than myself. It is a belief in a higher power, whether you call it God, Buddha, Mother Nature, the Universe, or something else. Wisdom requires discernment. It is knowing when and what to let go of to reduce suffering. A spiritual life encourages detachment. I believe in God, Buddha, Ganesha, and other Deities, and I see no problem incorporating them all into my spiritual practice.
The divine spirit resides within each of us. Knowing that the divine is within me comforts me. Not only do I realize I am never alone, but I am confident I can make good moral choices. I am at peace knowing that whatever the outcome may be, I will ultimately be alright.
"The root of suffering is attachment." ~ Buddha
I have learned that letting go of outcomes gives me freedom from worry. Detachment eliminates anxiety. Letting go of possessions I do not need reduces clutter and helps others who may need those items. Letting go of the need for external validation leaves me far more clear. All of this eliminates suffering.
Surrender to what is. Live in the moment free from pains of the past and worries for the future. All that we can control is this present moment and how we respond to what is happening around us.
How to Deepen Spiritual Wisdom and Practice
When you have a difficult decision to make and feel genuinely stuck, you know the feeling of being mentally pinned against the wall, "Let go and let God." Pause and ask for help. God, the Universe, whatever you refer to as a higher power, will answer in mysterious ways.
Any time I am conflicted or feel uneasy, I try one, if not all, of the following:
Being spiritual has taught me to trust my intuition. Listen to your gut instinct and trust the energy when something feels right or wrong. Your spirit guides will communicate and let you know if you are on track and making wise decisions. You will start to see Angel Numbers, feathers, and other signs. God may not speak to you in human form, but he does communicate.
Find comfort in knowing you are connected to all living beings. Practice acceptance of what is and let go of the burden of judgment.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. When the future feels uncertain, I hope you will find comfort in spiritual wisdom for guidance.
Peace & Light,
Libby
