Bill Eigel, a candidate for governor, made a campaign stop in Lebanon Friday morning. Eigel spoke to supporters at Cafe’ Judes in Downtown Lebanon. He fielded questions about how he would deal with illegal immigrant, state support for veterans and education. Eigel is seeking the Republican nomination in the Aug. 6 primary election. The other major candidates include Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe and Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft. Eigel is currently a state senator serving the 23rd district and lives in Weldon Spring. (The Center Square) – The City of St. Louis’ guaranteed basic income payments were suspended for two weeks in response to an injunction request in a lawsuit challenging the program.
