Love Is Blind’s Monica Davis Exposes Ex Stephen Richardson’s Venmo Payment After Split

Love Is Blind star Monica Davis had no problem putting her ex-fiancé, Stephen Richardson , on blast.

Monica, 37, showed a screenshot of the memo along with the Venmo payment she demanded Stephen, 34, send her before he left their shared apartment during season 7.

“Alexa play Flowers by @mileycyrus. Swipe to see the Venmo amount and note,” Monica wrote alongside a carousel of photos posted to Instagram on Tuesday, October 15.

In the last slide, the screenshot from Venmo showed that Stephen paid Monica $400 and wrote, “Piece of s--t tax” in the memo section of the payment.

Fans have been curious about the amount Stephen sent Monica after learning that she had been footing the bill for the majority of purchases once they returned to the real world after their time in the pods and Cabo San Lucas. Stephen told Monica in Love Is Blind episode 8 that there was a “possibility” he would return from filming and not have a job.

“I really did have a feeling,” Stephen told Monica during the episode. “That’s why [it was] the first thing I asked when I got on-site and saw my foreman. I was like, ‘Hey man, do I still have a job?’ He was like, ‘No, you didn’t hear?’ It does suck, but I’m not stressing about it.”

Monica assured him that she “had his back,” but things quickly went downhill once she discovered he was texting another woman.

“Reading those text messages filled with fetishes and c--ming – like, it’s disgusting, Stephen,” Monica began. “Why did you do this? Why did you propose? Why did you come here? Like, who are you?”

Stephen claimed he was “drunk” at a sleep test when he sent the messages, but Monica wasn’t buying it.

“You were doing it today, Stephen. You texted her this morning, and the really gross ones were today, so, don’t f--king lie to my face,” the account executive said. “They started yesterday and they went through today.”

Stephen admitted he’d made a stupid mistake and told Monica he would be getting his stuff and leaving their shared apartment. However, Monica wasn’t ready to let him off the hook that easily.

“Before you leave, I would like you to Venmo me the money you owe me for me carrying your weight the last couple days,” she explained. “If you wouldn’t mind taking out your phone now to send me the Venmo.”

Stephen did as he was asked and their relationship was officially in the dumpster.

Both Stephen and Monica have opened up about the incident since Love Is Blind season 7 premiered on October 2. Stephen joked that it was “probably smart to put a password on your phone,” during an interview with People published on October 10.

“But in all seriousness, the main things are self-talk, self-reflection, and a lot of the things that I believe, I said it in the pods, where it’s like you don’t know if you’re fully healed until your next relationship,” he added.

Monica explained how she discovered the texts on her phone, however.

“I discovered the texts just by total coincidence,” she told Entertainment Weekly . “We were in our apartment that day, and in the morning, Taylor [ Krause ] and Garrett [ Josemans ] had sent all of the couples a text that said, ‘We’re going to be baking fall goods for everyone, and we’re going to drop them off later tonight.’ We were expecting them to come by soon, and he had to go to the bathroom, so he left his phone, and it lit up.”

Monica continued, “I was scrolling to the top because I wanted to see when they started, and they started some time ago, certainly before he left to do this [show]. It was like a dagger to the chest in that moment. Five seconds after, Taylor was asking me, ‘What did they say?’ And I couldn’t even remember the girl’s name, but I do remember they were really very sexual. I remember one specifically said, ‘No one’s ever been able to satisfy my kinks the way you do.’ And they were just going back and forth.”

Despite the disastrous end to their engagement, Monica also revealed that while they don’t speak to one another a lot, she and Stephen are still in communication on occasion.
