Love Is Blind’s Hannah Jiles Shares Details on Nick Dorka Breakup: ‘He Was Almost Trying to Produce It’

Love Is Blind star Hannah Jiles revealed that while the latest episodes showed a pretty accurate picture of her and ex-fiancé Nick Dorka’s breakup, a few moments were left out.

"I just knew that morning. I woke up, and I just didn't feel right. Trying on a wedding dress was such an important thing, and if I wasn't sure, I didn't want to do that,” Hannah, 27, told Entertainment Weekly in an article published on Wednesday, October 16. “I gave him a call out of respect, because I didn't want him to show up and I didn't show up, so I called him and let him know, 'I don't think I'm going to try on wedding dresses. We just need to have a conversation. It's just not looking good.'"

However, Nick’s response was not the one the Virginia native expected.

"He was just really stressed out about how it would look, and the way he acted on the phone call really solidified for me that we shouldn't be together," Hannah continued. "Because he was trying to almost produce it, and that just made me feel uncomfortable. So I just realized that we shouldn't be together."

Fans saw Nick, 29, talk about keeping details about his and Hannah’s love life private because he had “a brand” back home, and she claimed that the realtor was concerned about how they would look to audiences during their breakup .

"He wanted it to be a good breakup where he looked good and I didn't say anything mean to him, and he wanted to make sure I didn't say certain things or bring up anything in conversations," Hannah told the outlet. "Listen, a lot of things I do are wrong. I have a lot of flaws. But it's generally who I am, and I am not going to change our breakup just to make you look good if that's not generally how I feel."

As for Hannah’s behavior in front of the cameras, that’s something she’s been slammed for throughout Love Is Blind season 7. Many felt Hannah’s treatment of Nick was unnecessary with some fans even claiming that she was “abusive” to him.

“Episode 10 and 11 were mortifying. LIB should put a domestic violence disclaimer and a phone number to call for those who are going through abuse like this. Absolutely disgusting and NEVER okay to speak to someone like that. This show went from entertaining to very disturbing,” wrote one person in the comments of a photo Hannah posted to Instagram .

Another person added, “We always talk about men abusing women but we rarely talk about the abuse that women can have towards men! As a domestic violence survivor, I experienced severe anxiety watching you be so emotionally and mentally abusive towards Nick. I haven’t experienced this watching any of the other episodes, I tried to understand you but my PTSD wouldn’t allow it. I hope you have time to reflect on this, write down your own insecurities and work on yourself.”

A third person wrote, “@netflix @loveisblindnetflix you should SERIOUSLY have a disclaimer on Episode 11 for domestic abuse for Hannah’s emotional abuse of Nick. This is sickening and if roles were reversed you’d have a disclaimer and a man would be LIT UP for the behavior this girl possesses. Please get help.”

Even though Hannah and Nick called it quits, there are still three couples that have a chance to make it to the altar. The Love Is Blind season 7 finale premieres on October 23, and the reunion will air one week later on October 30.
