Utility tax to fund new $65 million north Alabama zoo opposed by county leaders
Supporters of a $65 million zoo for the Huntsville area in Limestone County say recent opposition to the project is based on a misconception of how the zoo would be managed. At the June 17 meeting of the Limestone County Commission, it unanimously approved a resolution “opposing the use of taxes or fees imposed on the public to pay for construction or operation of a privately owned zoo.”
