Canadian Manufacturer Expanding in Western New York
Increased sales and a rising demand for its products is prompting a Canadian manufacturer of industrial parts to undergo a major area expansion. Lifco Hydraulics Inc. has paid $2.195 million for the 25,120-square-foot former Goodnature Products building at 149 Bud Mill Drive in Cheektowaga, according to July 23 filings in the Ere County Clerk's office.
Olean DPW Soliciting Bids for Sewage Release System
The City of Olean Department of Public Works is soliciting the services of a professional engineering firm to create and implement a plan for sanitary sewer inflow and infiltration (I/I) mitigation. The City is also requesting an update to the capacity, management, operation and maintenance (CMOM) program for use in maintaining the sanitary sewer collection system. Sealed bids will be received at the Office of the Director of Public Works; Room 206 of the Olean Municipal Building, 101 East State Street, Olean, NY, 14760 until 3 pm, Thursday, August 29, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud inside the Olean Municipal Building, Room 211.
Potentially Deadly Veggies Sold In New York Stores
A voluntary recall has been expanded due to the potential health threat it poses in New York State. Wiers Farm Inc. of Willard, Ohio, is expanding its July 12, 2024, recall. The recall was initiated by findings reported by the Michigan Department of Agriculture. The vegetables at the center of the recall may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
Another Tornado Touched Down In New York State
The month of July has been a record month for tornados in New York State and another one was confirmed to have touched down earlier this week. The National Weather Service in Buffalo confirmed that an EF-0 tornado touched down near Orwell, New York. This was the 20th tornado to be confirmed in New York State this month.
