LIMESTONE, Tenn. (WJHL) — Brights Zoo hosted its first ever car show fundraiser on Saturday to support giraffe conservation around the globe.

Despite some rain, several classic cars, modern hotrods and even a mock tank vehicle attended the event.

The grand prize winner of the car show was a blue Ford truck, according to the zoo’s co-owner Melinda Bright.

Bright said giraffes hold a special place in many people’s hearts, and future generations deserve to see their beauty, too. That’s why the zoo is hosting fundraisers to conserve their species.

“They are wonderful, majestic animals and we want to see them for years to come,” she said. “We want our grandchildren and their children to see giraffes forever.” Bright highlighted in a social media post all the local restaurants that provided gift cards for the show’s prize packages, including Ole Guacamole, El Charolais on Bristol Highway and Black Olive.

More fundraising events are scheduled for the future at Brights Zoo–including a 1st birthday party for the rare spotless giraffe Kipikee.

Upcoming event dates and details can be found at Brights Zoo’s social media page .
