Beekeepers at Union Fair July 7-10
The Knox Lincoln County Beekeepers (KLCB) is pleased to announce that we will have a booth at the upcoming Union Fair at 1 Fairgrounds Lane, Union, during the agricultural fair days July 7 to 10. Our booth is number BC29 located in Blueberry Commons, which is to your immediate left as you enter the fair grounds. We will have an observation bee hive on display as well as information on becoming a beekeeper, beekeeping books and free information packets. We will also have local raw honey for sale for $15 per one pound jar and free honey tasting.

LCDC welcomes new campaign manager, opens campaign office
The Lincoln County Democratic Committee (LCDC) has tapped Stephen Wicks, Ph.D. to be the campaign manager for the 2024 election season. Wicks, a lifelong progressive, will work out of LCDC’s new campaign office at 27 River Road, Newcastle. More than 60 people attended a recent open house at the headquarters, where Wicks was officially announced as the campaign manager.
Spectrum Generations request for proposals
Spectrum Generations, Central Maine’s Area Agency on Aging, provides community-based services through the Older Americans Act (OAA) Title III, parts B, C, E, and D. Spectrum Generations serves Kennebec, Somerset, Waldo, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc Counties as well as the towns of Brunswick and Harpswell. The mission of Spectrum Generations is to promote and advance the well-being and independence of older and disabled adults, with the support of their care partners, to live in their community of choice.
Heavy rain leads to flash flooding in Maine
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Maine — Heavy slow-moving showers have led to flash flood warnings for portions of central Maine earlier this Monday evening. As of 11 p.m. the flash flood warning issued for east central Kennebec County and northern Lincoln County in central Maine has been discontinued. The warning is no longer in effect.
