Lincoln County wreck fatal

WEST LINCOLN — Lincoln County first responders worked a one vehicle wreck Friday afternoon in the West Lincoln Community. The call came in as first responders worked a separate one vehicle crash on US51 in Brookhaven around 1 p.m.

Sheriff Steve Rushing said a pickup truck left the roadway at 1442 Jackson Liberty SW and hit a tree. The driver died in the accident and was the only subject involved in the wreck.

Lincoln County Coroner Blake Wallace said the victim of the wreck was Robert Hugh Laird, 70.

Zetus Volunteer Fire Department, KDMC, Lincoln County Sheriff Office and Brookhaven Fire Department were dispatched to the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
