BROOKHAVEN — Lincoln County Engineer Ryan Holmes said paving projects were well on their way to being completed in a timely manner. He added Joe Magee Construction was making progress on replacement of a bridge on Auburn Road.

Dickerson and Bowen spent two days this week working on paving projects in Brookhaven before going back out to District 1. Lincoln County District 4 Supervisor Eli Ferguson said crews made progress in Districts 4, 2 and 3 last week and will continue work.

As of Thursday morning, forecasts show six days of solid rain chances which could slow down projects. Holmes said Dickerson and Bowen had a year to complete the paving work.

“They are well within their time. They have January 1 to December 31 to get it done,” Holmes said. “They will finish ahead of schedule.”

As for bridge replacement projects, Holmes said Randy Emfinger was setting up signs on Opelousas Lane about the bridge closure. The bridge being replaced is just south of California Road and the last fully timber bridge in District 5.

On Auburn Road, Holmes said Magee is 30 percent complete with their work and 50 percent on their budgeted time. The crew has 120 working days to complete the project. He said the crew was driving pylons.
