Lincoln County man wins $1M off $50 scratch-off
LINCOLNTON, N.C. (WBTV) - A Lincoln County man won a $1 million lottery prize. Maurice Young bought his lucky $50 scratch-off from Kingsway on North Aspen Street. Young decided to take the lump sum of $600,000 when collecting his prize at lottery headquarters. After taxes, he took home a total of $428,801.

LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Lincoln County High School Football Jamboree will be Friday, August 16 at West Lincoln High School. Gates will open at 4 p.m. with the one-hour scrimmages getting underway at 5:30 p.m. when North Lincoln will take on Bandys. Lincolnton will play Hibriten at 6:30 p.m., followed by East Lincoln and Northwest Cabarrus at 7:30 p.m.

Rachel Sadler of Lincolnton tried her luck on a $30 Supreme 7s scratch-off from Save Mart on East Main Street in Lincolnton and won the $4 million top prize.
Lincoln commissioners approve DCA traffic analysis appeal
LINCOLNTON – At the most recent meeting of the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners Aug. 5, an appeal of a traffic impact analysis (TIA) for a proposed expansion of Denver Christian Academy was heard and approved. This is the first time, according to Andrew Bryant, Lincoln County’s development services director, an appeal to a TIA decision has come before the board.
