Nebraska hosted its last junior day of the summer before the start of fall camp. The Huskers had over 20 players in Lincoln including talented 2026 tight end Isaac Jensen from Omaha (Neb.) Millard South. Jensen went to junior day earlier this year, but said the event this weekend was very different than the junior day in January.

“I didn’t go to this event last summer, but I was at the junior day in January,” Jensen said. “This one was different because it wasn’t a ton to do with football.

“We had a lot of things to do like a three-point contest, golf simulator, home run contest, and other things in teams. It wasn’t at all about football, which made it pretty fun.”

Jensen spent some time with a couple of other in-state recruits when they broke out into teams. He liked breaking out into groups which made it easier to get to know some of the other recruits.

“I was in a group with Conor Booth and Matt Erickson,” Jensen said. “JJ Dunnigan was also in my group. It was a good group to get to know some of the other recruits.”

There have been some changes in the tight end room, but coach Marcus Satterfield is coaching the group now. Jensen feels a connection with Satterfield and the rest of the staff at Nebraska.

“I feel like I am building a solid relationship with the staff. There have been some changes, but I really like coach Satterfield. Building relationships has been big with me, and I feel like I have a good relationship with all of the staff at Nebraska.”

Millard South seems to be the team to beat in Class A next year. They have been working hard all summer and will be in their second week of team camp next week. Jensen is done with trips for the summer and is looking at a return visit to Nebraska early this fall.

“We had camp last week, and we do again this week,” Jensen said. “I think that I am going to make it to the Colorado game, which should be a really good game this year, and it’s at night.”

Jensen finished his sophomore year with 26 receptions for 360 yards and four touchdowns.
