Keenan Harris from St. Louis (Mo.) University, a top 2026 target, was back in Lincoln this past weekend for a junior day. Harris has been to Nebraska several times, but this junior day visit was different. It was set up so that the recruits could have some fun while still seeing the campus and experiencing things you typically wouldn’t do on a visit.

“It was good!” Harris said. We got to see the whole campus, and they showed us the new facilities they just built, and it was fun—real fun.”

In addition to the different activities for the recruits to do this weekend, this was the first time Harris saw several parts of the facilities at Nebraska. He was unable to see them before because they were under construction.

“I have been here three or four times already, but the other times things were under construction. Being able to see the top-notch facilities and talking to the coaches was fun.

“Saturday was about having fun and hanging out. We did a scavenger hunt around campus and other competitions. It was a lot of fun.”

Harris is close with the linebackers coach as well as his recruiting coach, who is also from St. Louis. The two talk about places to eat and Harris enjoys having someone at Nebraska who knows about where he is from.

“I have a really good relationship with coach Rob Dvoracek,” Harris said. “And I also communicate with Keith Williams. He’s from St. Louis, and we talk about it all the time.

“He’s from the city, and we talk about places he goes. It’s fun to talk to a coach who is from the same city. It’s great.”

Nebraska can see Keenan Harris playing multiple LB spots

There wasn’t a chance to discuss the Nebraska defense and where the coaches can see Harris playing this weekend. He’s had that conversation with the linebackers coach before.

“I have talked about the defense with coach Dvoracek before. The visit this weekend wasn’t really like that, but we have talked about where they see me playing and what they see me as.

“They run a 3-3-5, and they like that I play outside linebacker now and can cover. But they see me playing more of a Will or a Mike so I can read and shoot gaps.”

Harris got to hang out with five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola this weekend. He’s been around Raiola before in Lincoln and has even talked to him on the phone when he was chatting with the Nebraska coaches.

“I have known Dylan for a minute,” Harris said. “He’s been up there a couple of times and been around. Also, when I am talking with the coaches on the phone, he’s been around just saying, ‘What’s up?’.”

Harris will return to Lincoln this fall for a game. The game most recruits have been talking about has been Colorado. Harris isn’t available that weekend and is eyeing a weekend against a Big Ten foe.

“I will be back in the fall,” Harris said. “They want me to come down when they play Colorado, but I can’t visit that weekend. I think that I will be back when they play Rutgers.”

As a sophomore, Harris finished the season with 112 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, four sacks, and one interception.
