Nebraska's QB Dylan Raiola Unveiled As Godson Of Star NFL Quarterback

From a genetic standpoint, Nebraska freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola already has a head start. Raiola is the son of long-time Detroit Lions center Dominic Raiola and is reportedly the godson of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford .

Stafford was a long-time Lion, which ties this story all together; however, Raiola, who is one of the highest-rated quarterbacks in recent memory, came in as a five-star recruit and the 7th-ranked player in the class of 2024, according to 247Sports .

Raiola was formerly committed to Ohio State at the beginning of 2023; however, after seeing the talent in the room and the expectation that he would probably have to sit a year, he ultimately made the decision to reopen his recruitment process and look elsewhere.

Which is when he shockingly enough chose the Nebraska Cornhuskers led by head coach Matt Rhule , who played a vital part in the recruitment.

Raiola is set and expected to be the starting quarterback when the Cornhuskers take the field in Week 1 against UTEP on August 31st.
