The countdown to kickoff is just 28 days away as the Nebraska Cornhuskers continue to prepare for the start of their 2024 season on August 31 against the UTEP Miners.
In the player spotlight with 28 days to go is Huskers redshirt freshman running back Kwinten Ives.
The Beverly, New Jersey prospect played in four games with the Huskers as a true freshman, making his collegiate debut against Northwestern. He did not record any rushing attempts but did record one kickoff return of 23 yards.
In 2024, Ives is expected to be a depth piece for the Huskers. He’ll potentially have the opportunity to earn some carries throughout the season but barring injuries, he is entering the fall quite a bit down the depth chart.
Ives was a three-star prospect across the recruiting industry; he chose the Huskers over offers from UConn, Monmouth, Stony Brook, and Temple.
