Students head back to the classroom next week
KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – Students in the Monadnock Region head back to school on next week. According to SAU 29’s website, school resumes for all districts on Tuesday, August 27th. Preschool at Jonathan Daniels and in Marlborough will begin after Labor Day on September 3rd, along with Kindergarten in both Keene and Chesterfield. Marlow preschool and kindergarten begins September 9th.

WALPOLE, N.H. -- The U.S. Plastics Pact (U.S. Pact) has released their Design for Circularity Playbooks, three essential reports designed to guide the lifecycle of plastics in the United States. The newly unveiled Design for Recyclability Playbook, Design for Reuse Playbook, and Design for Compostability Playbook provide detailed guidelines to ensure that plastic packaging is continuously reused, recycled, or composted, thereby reducing plastic waste and its environmental impact.

A resident of Swanzey, New Hampshire, has been indicted in federal court for the theft of firearms from a licensed gun store that occurred in July. Khale Guillou, a 19-year-old from Swanzey, faces one count of theft involving firearms from a federally licensed dealer, which includes one rifle and sixteen pistols. Currently, Guillou is in custody in Massachusetts on unrelated charges and will address these new charges at a future date. If found guilty, he may face a prison sentence of up to ten years and a fine of $250,000.
