Weekend forecast: Calming down and drying out
After several days of periodic, road-flooding deluges, a break is in store for the weekend as a front pushes south of the area. While we could see a few lingering storms on Saturday, we should see a little more in the way of sunshine through broken cloud cover as well. After a mid-70s start, temperatures will head to about 90° in the afternoon. Heat indices will not be quite the factor that they have been thus far in July, either: it’ll feel around 95° or so. Certainly not cool by any objective measure, but it’s not 105°, either.

Columbia Police search for ‘armed & dangerous’ suspect accused of shooting into car with his family inside
Columbia, SC (WOLO) — The Columbia Police Department is hoping you can help them locate a man they say is considered armed and dangerous and on the loose. According to authorities 52 year old Lurekus Leonard Davis is wanted in connection to a shooting that took place earlier today in the 6200 block of Garners Ferry Road. Police say Davis is accused of shooting into a car with his family members inside as well as children as it traveled down a main lower Richland thoroughfare.

3 men indicted in connection with 2022 Columbiana Centre mass shooting
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Three men have been indicted on several assault and weapons charges two years after a mass shooting at a Columbia mall. Marquise Robinson, 22, Amari Sincere-Jamal Smith, 23, and Jewayne Price, 24, were indicted on July 15 on multiple charges including attempted murder, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and unlawful possession of a pistol, according to records in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Public Index.
