Linden, NJ - Celebrate Independence Day in Linden responsibly! Follow municipal ordinances on fireworks to avoid fines, community service, or imprisonment. Please be courteous of your neighbors while celebrating Independence Day. The Linden Police Department is reminding all residents of the following: 1. All residents over the age of 16 are encouraged to use LEGAL fireworks responsibly! Rule of thumb: if it shoots into the air, it is not OK! 2. The city's municipal ordinance also restricts the use of fireworks: • between 10:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m. • within 15 feet of any structure. • on any city property (including but not limited to city parks, parking lots, and streets) The City of Linden has a zero tolerance policy for violations of these laws, and penalties for violations could result in fines of up to $2000, community service, and/or imprisonment. All violations can be reported to our non-emergency number (908) 474-8500. PLEASE DO NOT CALL 9-1-1 EXCEPT IN CASE OF EMERGENCY Happy 4th of July!!!
