Marion man accused of “double dipping” thousands of dollars in payroll checks at Tiffin bank branch
A Linn County man is accused of “double-dipping” thousands of dollars in payroll checks at a Tiffin bank branch by using both mobile and in-person deposits to cash them. 22-year-old Bandar Khalil of Marion was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 5:45 Saturday night. Coralville Police say Khalil was employed by a local business between May 26th and September 3rd of last year when he deposited eight checks totaling $4,796.58 into his personal bank account through mobile deposit. He then allegedly went to the Tiffin branch of his employer’s bank…Solon State Bank…and cashed the same payroll checks.
