CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (IOWA'S NEWS NOW) — As Iowa's two-year gaming moratorium expires on June 30, Cedar Rapids mayor Tiffany O'Donnell says she's "cautiously optimistic" about the chance to apply for a new gaming license in Linn County - and the chance to potentially bring a casino to the City of Five Seasons after more than a decade of failed efforts.

LINN COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) - The NWS has listed Tuesday evening’s tornado, which touched down in a field approximately 2 miles north of Ely, as an EF0. The tornado reportedly caused some crop damage and lifted some loose asphalt as it moved very slowly to the southeast. Max winds were estimated to be around 85 mph.
Head-on collision shuts down part of Highway 151 in Fairfax for an hour
LINN COUNTY, Iowa — No one is seriously hurt after two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision in Fairfax Wednesday morning. Around 7am, Linn County Sheriff's Deputies, along with members of Linn County Rescue, the Fairfax Fire Department and Area Ambulance, were dispatched to Highway 151 just north of St. Patrick’s Road after receiving reports of a crash.
