9:59 a.m – Thomas Junior Mccarthy, 60, was arrested on a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for a probation violation on an original charge for driving while suspended. Linn Genealogical Society settles into new home
The Linn Genealogical Society has found a new home. The nonprofit organization is in the midst of nestling into a small research room at the Albany Regional Museum after losing its space earlier this spring at the Albany Public Library, where members had assisted the public with their genealogical inquiries for 15 years.
Cooling centers open for July weekend heat wave
WESTERN OREGON – With temperatures expected to exceed 100 degrees in parts of Oregon starting July 6, several counties are opening spots where folks can go to beat the heat. Cooling centers in Benton County include the Corvallis Public Library at 645 northwest Monroe Avenue, the Corvallis Community Center at 2601 northwest Tyler Avenue, the Philomath Community Library at 1050 Applegate Street, and the Monroe Community Library at 380 north Fifth Street.
