Boy dies in crash on Highway 20 in Linn County
One person died and two were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 20 between Lebanon and Sweet Home around 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 3. Preliminary investigation indicates Scott Turner, 52, of Sweet Home was driving westbound in a gray Dodge Ram 1500 when he crossed several lanes of travel for unknown reasons and collided head-on with an eastbound blue Dodge Ram 2500 driven by 34-year-old Sweet Home resident William Drager, according to a news release from Oregon State Police.

East Albany Lions Club to host annual Lumberjack Breakfast
ALBANY, Ore. – Linn County residents can kick off their Fourth of July with a full belly at the annual Lumberjack Breakfast hosted by the East Albany Lions Club. The annual breakfast, which has been a staple happening and part of the community’s Fourth of July celebration for the past 60 years, will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. beginning on July 4 at Timberland Park just east of Interstate 5, according to Jerry Shipman, chairman of the club’s scholarship committee and a longtime member of the organization. Shipman said that they’ll be serving up pancakes, eggs, and sausage on an all-you-can-eat basis with adults eating for $10 and kids eating for $5 as long as folks are around. A new feature this year is the acceptance of credit card payments, Shipman said.
