Sweet Home man arrested for online sexual corruption of a child
LINN COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) - A man from Sweet Home has been arrested following a luring of a minor investigation, according to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation began in Dec. 2023 when the parents of a 15-year-old girl reported to law enforcement that their daughter had been having sexual communications through a social media app with a 42-year-old man over a four-month period.

The room next to Sweet Home City Council Chambers is unfinished and mostly filled with storage space, but soon, a new tenant may share the space at City Hall. In East Linn County, services are stretched few and far between. Most people who live in Sweet Home have to travel to Albany to receive assistance for housing or job programs.

Fatal Crash – HWY 20 – Linn County
Linn County, Ore. 3 July 24- On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 6:17 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Hwy-20, near milepost 21, in Linn County. The preliminary investigation indicated a westbound Dodge Ram 1500 (gray), operated by Scott Turner (52) of Sweet Home, crossed several lanes of travel for unknown reasons and struck an eastbound Dodge Ram 2500 (blue), operated by William Drager (34) of Sweet Home, head on. The collision caused heavy damage to both vehicles and the gray Dodge 1500 became fully engulfed in flames shortly after the collision.
