OSKALOOSA, Kan. (WIBW) - A man has been found guilty in connection with a 2022 crash that killed a Kansas National Guard airman in Jefferson County, according to KNZA Radio. Manuel Enriquez, of Kansas City, Mo., was convicted Thursday in Jefferson County District Court in Oskaloosa on charges related to a head-on collision in which 23-year-old Cheyanne Branson, of Diana, Texas, was killed.

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued an extreme heat warning in effect Monday afternoon through Thursday evening. The weather service predicts the region will see afternoon high temperatures near 100 Monday, 102 Tuesday, 105 Wednesday and 102 on Thursday. Heat index values are predicted to climb to between 105 and 115 degrees.
