York County adopts four-day workweek for nonunion employees
ALFRED, Maine — A new policy approved by York County Commissioners allows most nonunion York County government employees to work their 40-hour schedule over four, 10-hour days instead of five, 8-hour days, if they so choose. Proponents say it is a policy that offers a greater work-life balance for those who choose that option, while still having county offices fully open to the public during regular business hours Monday through Friday. ...

More Shower Chances Expected Tomorrow, with Sunshine Returning Late Week
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - Good evening everyone and happy Tuesday. We had a more unsettled day across the county today with more showers than I was originally anticipating. This was thanks to low pressure still having more strength to it, and sitting just to the east of the state this evening. This low hasn’t had much luck working east, with the remnants of Ernesto working to create a blocking pattern, keeping this low pressure over us for the next couple of days. The center of the low is expected to re-develop back to the west of us, which means more shower chances in the forecast tomorrow, with one last round of showers, downpours, and possible storms moving through during the afternoon and evening hours of Thursday. This will usher in drier air, with high pressure taking control to end the work week and first half of the weekend.
