LINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– Now to a much anticipated fourth of July event today in Linton. It’s the Linton Freedom Festival Parade.

Despite a delay because of this morning’s rain, this afternoon around 120 entries made their way down Main Street and State Road 54. Participants passed out candy and waved at people lining the parade route.

WTWO was happy to participate in the parade again this year and also broadcast the event live. It is known as Indiana’s largest Independence Day parade the event draws thousands of people to the city.

“It means a lot.” says Ryan Clifford, former Linton resident from Las Vegas. “I mean that’s why I came back because it’s the one event that everybody comes back to see friends and family so anytime you come back, you’re guaranteed to run into old familiar faces.”

If you missed the Linton parade you can watch it here on our website.
