LISBON, Ohio (WKBN) — $2.9 million in state funding is going to Columbiana County for a new records building that will also house the county’s drug task force.

The funding comes from the passage of a $4.2 billion two-year construction budget, that provides funding for state-owned infrastructure, schools, and community projects.

The new building will be in Lisbon.

The Columbiana County Sheriff says this new building is a much needed space for both the county records and the drug unit.

“The location for the task force now is not the best location for them to be in, and being able to have a building that’s designed from the beginning for a unit like that is very important,” Columbiana County Sheriff Brian McLaughlin said.

Details on other local projects receiving parts of this funding will be updated on our website throughout the project.
