New multimillion dollar gymnastics facility coming to Springfield area
A new gymnastics facility is in the works, according to a commercial permit filed with the City of Springfield Building and Zoning Department on June 13. The new gymnastics facility will be located at 3400 Gateway Drive in Springfield. The 1.12-acre lot that the facility is being built on sold for $209,000 in 2023, according to Realtor.com.

These Illinois zip codes are considered 'high risk' for lead exposure
ILLINOIS, USA — Nearly 150 more high-risk zip codes have been added to the Illinois Department of Public Health's lead testing list. IDPH keeps track of zip codes throughout the state where residents are at a higher risk of lead exposure. On July 1, 148 new zip codes, representing 60 Illinois counties, were added to the list. That brings the total number of high risk zip codes up to almost 1,200.

Carlinville’s Hannah Gibson qualifies for Junior Olympics
Last weekend, Carlinville High School athlete Hannah Gibson qualified for the USATF Junior Olympics, which will take place at Texas A&M University. She placed third overall in a highly-competitive 17-18 age group by setting a new personal record of 146’ 2” in the hammer throw.
