Police Beat for Saturday, August 18th, 2024
A 21-year-old Salem woman was arrested by Salem Police Friday night for alleged domestic battery. Shaina Phillips of North Broadway was arrested when police went to her home for the second time for a disturbance. The first time police left after the two ignored a suggestion one of them left the home for the night to avoid further problems. Instead, police were called back after Phillips was allegedly trying to force a bathroom door open where the alleged male victim was attempting to avoid contact. In the process, police say the male was hit by the door several times. Phillips was taken to the Marion County Jail to await any court action on Monday.

Man killed in crash at I-70, 270 interchange
