Mid-Coast Audubon lobster bake fundraiser in Bremen Aug. 31
Mid-Coast Audubon is hosting its annual lobster bake fundraiser at Hog Island Audubon camp in Bremen on Saturday, Aug. 31. Members of the Mid-Coast Audubon Board will display their cooking talents and be available to answer bird questions. An $85 donation covers boat transportation, a meal of a lobster, potato, and corn on the cob all baked over an open fire on the beach, plus clams, baked onion, lemonade, coffee and a special dessert, and the opportunity to explore the island before or after eating.

Still room for more cool vehicles
The OBD Williams-Fossett Vintage Car Show, now in its 11th year, has changed locations over the years for differing reasons. The annual show was welcomed in its first year by the Bristol Consolidated School with only 11 participating vehicles, then moved to Fort William Henry, relocated to the former Harbor Room restaurant lot due to a restrictive culture at the park, then invited back to the school by principal Jennifer Ribeiro in 2023 with more than 40 cool vehicles doing the show. Vintage Show organizers enthusiastically thank Principal Ribeiro along with staffers Godofredo Arzate Patiño and Nicole St Cyr for the warm welcome-back and key day-of logistical assistance.
Bubba Pelton wins Ward & Sons Super Street 100 at Wiscasset Speedway
Saturday was a special day at Wiscasset Speedway as they were celebrating an event that only comes around once a year: their birthday! On top of celebrating 55 years of the speedway, Team Wiscasset used the day to honor their new 2024 Hall of Fame inductees and there was even a celebrity roaming around the grounds. PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) - Good evening everyone and happy Tuesday. We had an active weather day across the county with showers and thunderstorms developing during the afternoon and early evening hours. The area of low pressure and energy associated with this shower activity continues to push eastward, and will result in showers tapering off later tonight, with some patchy fog possible to develop between now and tomorrow morning. Clouds likely linger in the forecast during the morning hours of Wednesday, with another round of showers and thunderstorms developing and pushing through during the afternoon and evening hours. We’ll continue to see active weather through the end of the work week and into the weekend, as low pressure continues to develop and impact our weather until then.
