Jury has case in trial of woman accused of abandoning baby in woods
MANCHESTER, N.H. — Jurors have begun deliberations in the case of a woman accused of abandoning her newborn in the New Hampshire woods. Alexandra Eckersley faces five charges, including two counts of second-degree assault, which are related to the newborn's hypothermia and respiratory problems. A falsifying physical evidence charge is connected to her allegedly failing to tell officials where the baby was. She is also charged with reckless conduct and endangering the welfare of a child.
