Boating crash on Lake Winnisquam kills Tilton, NH man
New Hampshire State Police are investigating a deadly boating crash a few miles away from the Sullivan County line. The crash took place on Lake Winnisquam in Tilton shortly after 6:30 a.m. Sunday. Troopers say Thomas Mead, 76, of Tilton was rowing on the lake when an unnamed 17-year-old boy struck his rowing scull with a pontoon boat. The boy took Mead aboard the pontoon boat and performed CPR until help arrived, but Mead died at a hospital in Laconia.
