PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (WGME) - Get ready to hit the high seas!. The U.S. Coast Guard is bringing "a tall ship" to Portsmouth Harbor this weekend!. You can catch a ride on the Coast Guard training vessel "The Eagle" just off Market Street where Coast Guard Cadets or "swabs" are excited to show off their new "sea-skills."
Boating crash on Lake Winnisquam kills Tilton, NH man
New Hampshire State Police are investigating a deadly boating crash a few miles away from the Sullivan County line. The crash took place on Lake Winnisquam in Tilton shortly after 6:30 a.m. Sunday. Troopers say Thomas Mead, 76, of Tilton was rowing on the lake when an unnamed 17-year-old boy struck his rowing scull with a pontoon boat. The boy took Mead aboard the pontoon boat and performed CPR until help arrived, but Mead died at a hospital in Laconia.
