It’s nearing the end of August, and, with it, the end of summer. It’s a little hard to believe, at least for me; it feels like it all breezed by so quickly. Nevertheless, as we prepare to move from one season to another, one thing remains consistent: that there will always be new books to look forward to. If you’re familiar with the rhythms of the publishing industry, it won’t come as a surprise that there aren’t as many entries today, which is typical for the end of the summer. But what we do have is very much worth it, particularly if you’re in search of nonfiction, as nonfiction dominates my list today.

NEW YORK (AP) — Brandon Sanderson, whose epic “Wind and Truth” is a highlight of the upcoming publishing season, sees nothing wrong with the idea of “escapism.”. “It’s just the ability to go to another world and relate to other people’s problems, problems that aren’t our problems. It’s a really valuable tool in our lives,” the fantasy novelist told The Associated Press during a recent telephone interview. Sanderson’s fans have waited four years for “Wind and Truth,” the 1,300-page fifth volume in his “Stormlight Archive” fantasy series.

We are in the last week of August, and in my mind, it’s the last week of summer. September is when I let myself pull out all of my pumpkins and fall leaf decor. BUT, we’re not there yet. This is the week that I catch up on reading, often diving into my favorite genres. And I’m a huge fan of memoir. So for this week, we’re going to be looking at some top-tier memoirs you won’t want to miss. But first, let’s jump into bookish goods and new books!

I’m going to be real and say that, at first, I was scoffing a bit at the fall book lists I started seeing about a week ago. Weather forecasts still had a lot of us firmly in the 80s and 90s, temperature-wise, and outside was giving more iced tea than pumpkin spice.

The child and his family were visiting the museum at Haifa University last week when the boy “pulled the jar slightly” out of curiosity.
