    Below are summaries of local VFW baseball games between July 2 and July 1, compiled by Nick Tabatt.

    Little Falls outhits Princeton in two games

    The Little Falls VFW baseball team traveled to a double header in Princeton Tueday, June 2. Little Falls won the first game 1-0, with the only run scored by Evan LeMieur in the third inning. Other hits were made by John Ahlin, Landon Lashinski, Ben Anderson and Isaiah Schultz. John Ahlin threw six strikeouts in seven innings. Little Falls had six hits and Princeton had one.

    Princeton won the second game 4-3. Little Falls’ Connor Neu led the team at the plate, going 1-3, along with hitting a double. Neu threw seven strikeouts in four innings. Even though the Princeton won by runs, Little Falls won 6-5 in hits.

    Little Falls goes 1-1 against Brainerd

    The Little Falls VFW baseball team hosted a doubleheader against Brainerd Monday, July 1. Little Falls struggled in the first game, losing 6-4. Evan LeMieur pitched over five innings, throwing four strikeouts and allowed six walks. Those with hits were Nick Sprang, John Ahlin, Charlie Zwilling, Landon Lashinski and Isaiah Schultz. Brainerd ended the first game with seven hits while Little Falls had five.

    Little Falls won the second game of the double header, winning 5-1. Marshal Zapzalka and Charlie Zwilling scored the sirst two runs in the first inning. Little Falls scored three more runs, thanks to the single hits made by LeMieur and Ahlin. Zwilling was the winning pitcher, throwing three strikeouts in four innings and allowed one error. LeMieur went at the 2-2 with a double. Little Falls had five hits while Brainerd finished with two.
