Twenty two teams of four people took part in the 35th Annual Chamber Golf Outing at the Little Falls Country Club Monday, July 8.

The event included 15 hole sponsors, two sponsors for hole in one prizes, and nine corporate sponsors. President and CEO of the Little Falls Chamber of Commerce Purva Watten, explained the Chamber’s purpose of bringing people to events like this.

“What we do is give visibility and exposure to businesses, so an event like a golf outing is a great way for all these businesses to network with each other…,” Watten said.

While some businesses contributed to the event, with food and prizes, other businesses set up booths by the holes, for golfers to stop by and visit. Some like Edward Jones Investments gave out snacks and golf balls while people representing Bridgeway Estates, Little Falls Health Services and Little Falls Care Center had the Plinko game set up.

Watten shared how the inner workings of the Golf event started all the way back in March. Even before that, the Chamber made sure the venue was secured. With the golf outing being the first to utilize the clubhouse’s new event space, Watten said setup was a smooth process. Many volunteers helped with getting vendors to their spots or acting as a resource for those who needed information.

“…It’s a huge team effort and everyone pitches in to make it happen,” Watten said

Winners of the Golf tournament included the team from Little Falls Radio, with a gross score of 53. The team earned $250 in Chamber Bucks, which stays within the community. Chad Wallgren won the longest drive in the men’s category, while Jana Festler won the Women’s category. Travis Johnson won the putting contest. The top three winning teams in the Skins game were White Wolf in two-on-two category, Little Falls Radio in the three-on-nine category and Golfers of Little Falls (G.O.L.F) in the two-on-16.

Watten considers the event a success, considering the amount of teams there were at the golf course and the positive feedback coming from participants involved. Watten said she enjoys talking with everyone and seeing how she can better serve them in any way.

“When people are telling me they’re having fun, I’m having fun as well,” Watten said. “At the same time, we also had so many volunteers…we can’t really make this happen without our sponsors and our volunteers.”
