    Little Falls Legion beats Cold Spring at home

    The Little Falls Legion baseball team beat Cold Spring 8-5 in a come back victory Tuesday, July 9. Little Falls hosted the game at the Belle Prairie Athletic Complex due to the high school field not being in playing condition.

    Cold Spring was ahead 4-1 in the top of the third inning when Carter Gwost hit an RBI-home run, sending himself and Bobby Toure to home plate. A couple of plays later, Jacob Dahlberg hit a double, sending John Ahlin home and tying the score 4-4.

    Izaak Kalis scored a run to tie the score 5-5 in the bottom of the fourth inning. Thenrun was made possible by a sacrifice hit from Gwost. Toure, Gwost and Garrett Lindberg scored three more runs shortly after. Little Falls executed a double play to end the game.

    Peter Knopik pitched all five innings, throwing two strikeouts and allowing eight hits. Lindberg led the team at the plate, going 2-2.

    Tough battle against Sauk Rapids

    Little Falls traveled to take on Sauk Rapids Monday, June 8. Little Falls was outscored 3-1. Joey Welinski pitched six innings, throwing three strikeouts and allowing five hits.

    Carter Gwost went 2-4 at the plate, along with hitting a home run. Alex Thoma came up with a double.

    Little Falls took on the St. Cloud Chutes at Putz Field in St. Cloud Thursday, July 11. They will travel to play against Pierz Tuesday, July 16.
