Rome, N.Y. — Rome residents harmed by severe thunderstorms and a tornado that plowed through the city last week can soon apply to a recovery fund, officials said. About $175,000 has already been raised for the Rome Victims Recovery Fund, according to Anthony Picente Jr., the Oneida County executive. The county plans to contribute $1 million, he said.

Syracuse, N.Y. — If the 96-gallon trash cart Syracuse households received last year isn’t big enough, residents will soon be able to get a second container. The Cicero Eatery at 7785 Frontage Road closed Sunday, said Robb Bidwell, who owns the business with partner Doug Balle.
