Newport Township, IL – A serious traffic crash occurred in Newport Township on Saturday morning, leaving one passenger critically injured. According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 10:15 a.m. at Russell Road and Frontage Road near I-94. PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - It has been a very pleasant start to the weekend across the Mid-Ohio Valley. The dry air that came in from Thursday’s cold front has made this afternoon feel comfortable despite the 90s building back in. This pleasant weather is going to persist on Sunday before showers and thunderstorms return next week. Now, it will be a tad bit warmer Sunday afternoon, but humidity is still not going to be much of a problem. We will also continue to see clear skies tonight and throughout all of tomorrow.
Cam Fallon continuing to grow during the summer
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Cam Fallon has enjoyed a productive summer on the links. The Parkersburg South junior golfer is coming off a first place finish in the Boys 15-16 Division at the Callaway Junior Tour’s last stop at the Greenbrier Sporting Club. That win was his third of the year. He also placed third in the West Virginia Junior Amateur Championship earlier this month. Cam even qualified for the West Virginia Amateur Golf Championship back in May. He is happy with how well he’s performed and how comfortable he’s been on the courses these last few months.
Governor DeWine signed new law requiring AEDs in every Ohio school
Worthington, Ohio – On a significant day for student safety, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed House Bill 47 into law at a ceremony held at Worthington Kilbourne High School. This new legislation mandates that every public and chartered nonpublic school in Ohio must be equipped with automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Governor DeWine emphasized the critical role of these devices in saving lives, stating, “The evidence is clear: AEDs save lives.” He highlighted that sudden cardiac arrest is the leading cause of death among student-athletes in the U.S. and noted that immediate use of an AED can make a life-saving difference.
