Greene: ‘Do your job’ - Temple native gives advice at HOF luncheon
WACO — Along with stories about a football career that saw him go from a high school standout at Temple Dunbar to an All-American at North Texas State and a Hall of Famer with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Joe Greene had a message for current Temple Wildcats players and other athletes in attendance at a luncheon in his honor Wednesday at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.
After beating an 88-year-old in wheelchair, Killeen man gets 4 years in prison
Last month, a jury found a Killeen man guilty of beating an elderly relative in a wheelchair; this week, a judge sentenced the man to years behind bars. On Wednesday afternoon in the 478th Judicial District Court, Judge Wade Faulkner sentenced Darrel Roberson to four years in prison, according to Bell County court records. Before the trial, Roberson had elected that the judge, rather than the jury, determine his punishment if found guilty.
Lhi Shao Olson
Lhi Shao Olson (nee Lee) beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, wife, aunt and friend, passed away at the age of 79 on July 18th in Temple, Texas. She was born on June 29, 1945 in Tapei Taiwan and lived in Killeen, Texas for the last 25 years. She met and married David Olson, who was serving time in the Air force. During that time, they had terrific adventures and memories of raising their kids. Lhi enjoyed shopping, cooking, spending time with family and traveling. She worked at Wong’s Palace for 30 years. She loved the job and loved the people. She also was loved and appreciate by everyone that entered Wong's Palace in which she greeted everyone with a smile. Lhi had a generous heart with a beautiful smile.

Tesla, Soulbrain launch major projects
Electric vehicle maker Tesla has been shipping cars out of the sprawling RCR Taylor Rail Logistics Park for more than a year, but now the company is taking up more than 180,000 square feet of warehouse space there just 30 miles from its east Travis County gigafactory. Also this week, South Korean chemical company Soulbrain Holdings Co. Ltd. updated its development at RCR, a move that will add significantly to Taylor’s sales tax and property tax revenue.

Bruceville-Eddy to build sewer system for estimated almost $20 million
The city of Bruceville-Eddy will soon begin construction on its first sanitary sewer system — a project that is estimated to cost just under $20 million. The project has been in the planning stages since 2008 and was approved by Bruceville-Eddy City Council last month.
