Fort Cavazos doctor acquitted on sexual assault charges
A military judge has ruled not guilty in the case of a Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center psychiatrist who was accused of raping a Temple woman in 2022. U.S. Army Capt. Arne H. Eliasson II was acquitted on two counts of sexual assault of the Uniformed Code of Military Justice just before noon Thursday, bringing both a two-day trial and a two-year investigation to a close.

KPD responds to ‘shots fired’ calls over the weekend
Killeen police over the weekend responded to half a dozen incidents of gunfire and an aggravated assault which followed a heated domestic disturbance. Just after midnight Saturday morning, police responded to a call about criminal mischief in the 2500 block of Cody Poe Road. According to Killeen Police Department spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez, a preliminary investigation of the scene revealed that shots were fired toward a home that was occupied. Police reported there were no injuries as a result of the gunfire, but they did find damage to a vehicle.

A man from Killeen has been charged in connection with a stabbing death in Nolanville Monday night. Ernesto Leonardo Hernandez-Vargas, 25, turned himself in to the Temple Police Department shortly after a stabbing incident that was reported at about 8:38 p.m. Monday night, according to a news release by Nolanville Police Department.
